Iowa laws and regulations refer to homeschooling as Competent Private
Legal Instruction or CPI. Homeschooling law can be found in Chapter 299A of the Iowa Code as well as in Section [281] Education Department chapter 31 of the Iowa Administrative Code.
The Department of Education provides a
handbook that includes the necessary forms as well as answers to
frequently asked questions. The current CPI handbook and necessary forms can be found here: (http://www.iowa.gov/educate/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=301&Itemid=504)
